Description
This Oleo-Mac ignition coil is an aftermarket electronic ignition module for Oleo-Mac 947, 952 and GS 520 chainsaws, as well as compatible Efco models.
It replaces Emak / Oleo-Mac OEM reference 2501001R, which supersedes earlier ignition-coil references used in the same chainsaw engine family.
The ignition module produces the high-voltage pulse required to create a spark at the spark plug and ignite the engine’s fuel-air mixture.

Symptoms of a Faulty Ignition Coil
A defective ignition module can cause:
- No spark at the spark plug
- Difficult or impossible starting
- Intermittent engine misfiring
- Sudden engine shutdown
- Loss of spark when the engine becomes hot
- Failure to restart after normal operation
Before replacing the ignition coil, inspect the spark plug, spark plug cap, stop-switch wiring and electrical connections.
Installation Recommendations
Disconnect the spark plug before removing the original ignition module.
Inspect the flywheel magnets, mounting points and associated wiring. Install the replacement ignition coil with the correct flywheel air gap specified for the engine.
Route the ignition lead and electrical connections away from the flywheel, hot cylinder surfaces and moving components.
After installation, verify consistent spark generation and proper operation of the engine stop switch.
This is an aftermarket ignition coil, not a genuine Oleo-Mac, Efco or Emak OEM component.
