Replacement Procedure
Stop the engine and allow it to cool before opening the air-cleaner cover. Remove loose grass and dust from the outside of the housing first so debris cannot fall into the carburetor intake.
Remove the old element and wipe the inside of the housing with a clean, dry cloth. Do not push dirt through the intake opening.
Place the new element into the housing with the sealing edge seated evenly around its full perimeter. Reinstall the existing cover and tighten its fastener securely without deforming the plastic housing.
After assembly, confirm that the cover closes fully and that no part of the filter seal is trapped outside the housing.
