Description
This Husqvarna 55 recoil starter is a complete Winzor aftermarket pull-start assembly for compatible Husqvarna chainsaws. It replaces OEM part number 503608803 and several earlier starter references.
The assembled unit replaces the starter housing and internal recoil mechanism together, eliminating the need to transfer worn components from the original housing.

Pulling the handle rotates the starter pulley and engages the engine’s starting mechanism. The recoil spring then retracts the rope into the housing after each pull. A broken spring, damaged pulley, frayed rope or cracked housing prevents the starter from functioning correctly.
This complete assembly provides a direct replacement when the rope fails to retract, the pulley jams or the starter slips without turning the engine.
Before installation, clean the flywheel and mounting area. In addition, inspect the corresponding engagement components for damage. Position the starter evenly against the crankcase and tighten the mounting fasteners in sequence.
After installation, pull the handle slowly to confirm smooth engagement and full rope retraction. Finally, start the chainsaw and verify that the housing remains secure during operation.
