Stihl MS180 Piston Kit 38mm Graphite-Coated for 018 MS180C – 1130 030 2004

Description

This Stihl MS180 piston kit provides the components required to replace a worn, scored or damaged piston in compatible Stihl chainsaws. The 38mm piston has a graphite-coated skirt, which supports smooth initial operation and helps reduce friction between the piston and cylinder.

The kit includes the piston, two compression rings, piston pin and two retaining circlips. Therefore, it provides the essential piston components for a standard top-end repair.

This Winzor aftermarket kit fits:

• Stihl 018
• Stihl MS180
• Stihl MS180C

Important: this 38mm piston does not fit the Stihl MS210. The MS210 uses a 40mm piston and different 1123-series components.

• One graphite-coated 38mm piston
• Two 38 x 1.2mm piston rings
• One 10mm piston pin
• Two C10 piston-pin circlips

The cylinder, cylinder gasket and small-end bearing are not included.

Before installation, inspect the cylinder bore for deep scoring, excessive wear or transferred aluminium. A damaged cylinder can quickly damage a new piston. Also clean the ring grooves, check the ring locating pins and lubricate the piston, rings and cylinder with clean two-stroke oil during assembly.

Install the piston in the correct direction and seat both circlips fully in their grooves. After fitting, check engine compression and carburettor adjustment before returning the chainsaw to normal use.
