Description

This Stihl MS180 crankshaft kit contains the main components required to repair a worn or damaged chainsaw bottom end. The Winzor aftermarket kit includes the crankshaft, crankshaft bearings, oil seals and engine sealant.

Important: early Stihl 018 chainsaws with an 8mm piston pin require a different crankshaft. Check the piston-pin diameter and compare the original part before ordering.

Before installation, clean the crankcase mating surfaces and remove the old sealant. Check the crankcase for damage before installing the new bearings and seals. Apply the supplied sealant evenly while keeping it away from the bearings and internal passages.

After assembly, confirm that the crankshaft rotates freely without binding. Pressure-test and vacuum-test the crankcase before starting the engine. This helps detect air leaks that could create a lean fuel mixture and damage the rebuilt engine.
