OEM References
- 50180007BR
- 50180007AR
- 50170051BR
Oleo-Mac 937 and 941 C use the 50180007-series pump. Oleo-Mac 941 CX, 947, 952 and GS 520 use the 50170051-series pump.
This distinction is useful when checking an older machine because the saw model alone does not always identify the exact pump version. Matching the original pump reference provides an additional confirmation before installation.
Oil Pump Function
The oil pump supplies chain oil from the tank to the guide bar while the engine is running. Correct lubrication is essential for the guide bar, drive sprocket and saw chain.
A worn or damaged pump can cause:
- Little or no oil reaching the guide bar
- Irregular chain lubrication
- Excessive guide-bar and chain wear
- Overheating around the bar and chain
- Oil leakage around the pump area
Before replacing the pump, also check the oil tank filter, oil hose, delivery passage and pump drive mechanism. A blocked oil passage can produce the same symptoms as a failed pump.
Installation Checks
Clean the pump area thoroughly before installation so dirt and sawdust cannot enter the oil passages.
Inspect the pump drive components for wear and make sure the oil hose is not hardened, split or blocked. After assembly, fill the tank with suitable chain oil and run the chainsaw safely over a clean surface. A working system should produce a visible trace of oil from the guide-bar area.
