Description
This Oleo-Mac Sparta ignition coil is an aftermarket ignition module for compatible Oleo-Mac Sparta 42 and Sparta 44 petrol brushcutters. It replaces a failed or unreliable coil that can cause weak spark, difficult starting, intermittent ignition or complete loss of spark.
The ignition module corresponds to reference 61250015CR, which is catalogued for the Sparta 42 and Sparta 44 family. Before ordering, nevertheless, compare the reference number and physical construction with the original coil removed from the machine.

Production revisions may affect the coil body, cable routing, mounting arrangement or electrical connections. Therefore, model-family compatibility alone should not replace comparison with the original part.
Oleo-Mac Sparta Ignition Coil Function
The ignition coil generates the high voltage required by the spark plug to ignite the fuel-air mixture inside the cylinder. A defective module can result in several symptoms, including:
- No spark at the spark plug
- Weak or intermittent spark
- Difficult hot or cold starting
- Engine stopping after warming up
- Irregular running caused by ignition loss
However, similar symptoms may also result from a faulty spark plug, damaged plug cap, stop-switch wiring or incorrect coil-to-flywheel clearance.
Installation Checks
Before fitting the replacement coil, inspect the flywheel magnets, spark-plug lead, plug cap and stop-switch wiring. In addition, clean dirt and grass deposits from the ignition area.
Mount the module evenly and set the air gap between the coil and flywheel according to the servicing specification for the machine. Afterwards, rotate the engine by hand and make sure the flywheel does not contact the new module.
Finally, test for a consistent spark and start the brushcutter safely. Browse additional brushcutter and strimmer parts for compatible engine, fuel-system and drive components.
