Description
This Stihl MS660 cylinder kit is a 56mm HYWAY TITANIKEL big-bore cylinder assembly with a pop-up piston and cylinder base gasket.
It is intended for compatible:
- Stihl 066
- Stihl MS650
- Stihl MS660
- Corresponding MS660 Magnum applications
Replacement-family reference:
- 1122 020 1211
The kit combines:
- HYWAY TITANIKEL cylinder coating
- 56mm larger bore
- Raised-crown pop-up piston
- Cylinder base gasket
Big-bore and pop-up design
Big-bore refers to the increased cylinder diameter.
Pop-up refers to the raised piston crown.
These are separate features.
This is not simply a standard replacement cylinder with a different coating.
For 066 and MS660 engines, the standard cylinder bore is:
- 54mm
This kit increases the bore to:
- 56mm
It should therefore be treated as a big-bore conversion.

The OEM reference identifies the replacement family but does not mean that the cylinder retains the original bore diameter.
Cylinder kit contents
The kit includes:
- 56mm TITANIKEL cylinder
- Matching 56mm pop-up piston
- Piston rings
- Piston pin
- Circlips
- Cylinder base gasket
The cylinder and piston should be used as a matched set.
A standard 54mm piston is not suitable for this 56mm cylinder.
Important installation considerations
Treat this as a big-bore conversion rather than a normal like-for-like replacement.
Before assembly, check:
- Piston crown clearance
- Cylinder sealing arrangement
- Intake compatibility
- Remaining engine components
- Crankshaft condition
- Bearing condition
The supplied cylinder gasket forms part of the assembled configuration.
Do not alter or remove the gasket solely to increase compression without correctly checking piston clearance and engine geometry.
