Description
This Stihl MS250 cylinder kit is a 42.5mm HYWAY TITANIKEL cylinder and piston assembly for rebuilding compatible Stihl 025 and MS250 chainsaws.
It provides the main cylinder-group components required when replacing:
- A damaged cylinder
- A worn piston
- Failed or worn piston rings

The cylinder features HYWAY TITANIKEL bore coating and is supplied with a matching piston assembly.
This is a HYWAY aftermarket replacement, not an original Stihl cylinder.

42.5mm larger-bore conversion applications

For the 023 and MS230, this kit increases the cylinder bore from the original 40mm to 42.5mm.
It should therefore be treated as a larger-bore conversion rather than an original-size replacement.

Use the supplied cylinder and piston together.
Do not combine this 42.5mm cylinder with an existing piston of a different diameter.
Before installation
Check the condition of:
- Piston-pin bearing
- Crankshaft bearings
- Crankshaft seals
- Intake components
- Carburettor
- Fuel system
Inspect the original damaged parts before cleaning them, as their condition can help identify the cause of failure.
Correct any fuel-delivery issue, intake leak or carburettor problem before returning the saw to service.
Keep dirt, metal fragments and other contamination out of the crankcase during assembly.
