Description
This Husqvarna 268 clutch drum is a Winzor aftermarket replacement with an integral 3/8-inch, 7-tooth drive sprocket. It transfers engine power from the centrifugal clutch to the saw chain and replaces a worn, grooved or damaged drum on compatible Husqvarna and Jonsered chainsaws.
The drum cross-references OEM part number 501831504, also written as 501 83 15-04. In addition, the package includes the 3 g grease sachet shown in the product photographs.
Husqvarna 268 clutch drum compatibility
This clutch drum fits the following chainsaw models:
- Husqvarna 61
- Husqvarna 66
- Husqvarna 266
- Husqvarna 268
- Husqvarna 272XP
- Jonsered 625
- Jonsered 630
- Jonsered 670
However, older professional chainsaws can use different clutch-drum and sprocket configurations. Therefore, before ordering, compare the OEM reference, 3/8-inch chain pitch, seven-tooth sprocket and overall drum design with the removed part.
Integral 3/8-inch 7-tooth sprocket
This version uses a fixed spur sprocket built directly into the clutch drum. Consequently, it does not use a separate removable rim sprocket. The seven teeth engage the chain drive links, while the drum surrounds the centrifugal clutch assembly.
As the engine speed increases, the clutch shoes engage the inside of the drum. The drum then turns the drive sprocket and moves the chain around the guide bar. Therefore, worn sprocket teeth or a damaged drum can cause irregular chain movement, increased vibration and accelerated wear of the chain drive links.

Installation and maintenance
Before installation, clean the clutch area and inspect the clutch shoes, springs, chain, guide bar and oil-pump drive components. Moreover, check the replacement drum against the original part before final assembly.
Apply grease only to the appropriate bearing surface and keep it away from the clutch’s friction surfaces. Then install the drum and confirm that it rotates freely. Afterward, refit the chain and guide bar, adjust the chain tension and test the chain brake before operating the saw.
Finally, inspect the drive sprocket regularly. Husqvarna’s official chainsaw maintenance checklist recommends checking the drive sprocket for excessive wear and replacing it when necessary.
