Flywheel and Ignition System
On the Oleo-Mac 952, the same assembly drawing lists:
- Flywheel – 50260015R
- Ignition coil – 2501001R

These are separate components. Therefore, if the starter does not engage or the engine has no spark, check the corresponding component rather than automatically blaming the flywheel.
The flywheel is fixed to the crankshaft and carries the magnetic section used by the ignition system. Damage to the hub, keyway or magnetic section can cause incorrect ignition timing, vibration or ignition problems.
Installation Checks
Before fitting the replacement, inspect the crankshaft taper and locating key. The taper should be clean and undamaged so that the flywheel seats correctly.
Also inspect the starter pawl and ignition coil while the flywheel area is accessible. Install the flywheel in its correct position and tighten it according to the manufacturer’s service specification.
After assembly, rotate the engine manually before starting it. The flywheel must turn freely without touching the ignition coil or surrounding components.
