Description
This Husqvarna 137 cylinder kit is an aftermarket top-end assembly for selected Husqvarna 136, 137, 141 and 142 chainsaws fitted with a 38mm cylinder. It is intended to replace a scored cylinder, damaged piston, worn piston ring or another defective component in the engine’s cylinder group.
The cylinder supplied in this package is marked as having a chrome-coated working surface. In addition, the kit includes the principal piston components required during a top-end replacement.
Compatible Husqvarna chainsaws
The kit is sold for selected versions of:
- Husqvarna 136
- Husqvarna 137
- Husqvarna 141
- Husqvarna 142
Replacement reference:
- 530 06 99-40
- 530069940
However, not every production version of the listed models necessarily uses the same cylinder diameter. In particular, related Husqvarna machines may be found with different cylinder and piston configurations. Therefore, measure the original cylinder bore before ordering and confirm that the required diameter is 38mm.
Kit contents
The photographed package includes:
- 38mm cylinder
- Piston
- Piston ring
- Piston pin
- Piston-pin circlips
- Red silicone engine sealant
The kit does not appear to include separate intake or exhaust gaskets. Consequently, any additional gaskets, bearings or seals required for the repair should be obtained separately.
Installation and engine checks
Before installing the cylinder kit, inspect the crankshaft bearings, connecting rod, piston-pin bearing, intake boot, crankshaft seals and carburettor adjustment. A lean fuel mixture, blocked cooling passages, insufficient two-stroke oil or an intake air leak can damage a replacement cylinder and piston.
Furthermore, clean the crankcase mating surface carefully and prevent dirt, old sealant or metal particles from entering the engine. Lubricate the piston, ring and cylinder surface with suitable two-stroke oil during assembly. Afterwards, confirm that the piston ring is correctly positioned over its locating pin and that both circlips are fully seated.
Finally, rotate the engine carefully before starting it and check that the piston moves freely. Browse additional chainsaw parts for compatible bearings, carburettors, starters and drive components.
