Description

This STIHL TS400 carburetor is a complete aftermarket replacement built in the Walbro WJ-108A configuration. It replaces OEM part number 4223 120 0653 on compatible TS400 petrol cut-off saws.

The carburetor regulates the fuel-and-air mixture supplied to the engine. As a result, a correctly installed and adjusted unit helps the machine start reliably, maintain a stable idle and accelerate smoothly under cutting load.

A worn or contaminated carburetor can cause difficult starting, irregular idling, hesitation, fuel leakage or loss of power. Therefore, replacing the complete assembly can provide a practical repair when cleaning and adjustment no longer solve the problem.

Important compatibility information:

STIHL fitted different carburetor types to the TS400 during its production life. This version matches the Walbro WJ-108A-style carburetor and fuel-inlet arrangement.

Earlier TS400 machines may use a Tillotson HS-series carburetor. However, the fuel-line connection can differ between the Walbro and Tillotson versions. Consequently, changing between carburetor types may require the matching fuel-line arrangement.

Before ordering, compare the OEM number, carburetor body, fuel inlet, mounting points and throttle linkage with your original part. The TS400 model name alone may not confirm the carburetor version.

After installation, inspect the air filters, fuel filter, fuel hose, intake boot and impulse passage. Then adjust the carburetor according to the manufacturer’s procedure. An excessively lean setting can overheat and damage the engine.

This carburetor does not fit the STIHL TS410 or TS420. Gaskets, fuel lines and mounting hardware are not included unless they appear in the product photographs.
