Carburetor for Husqvarna 281, 281XP, 288, 288XP – 503 28 04-01, HS-228

Description

This complete Winzor aftermarket carburetor fits selected Husqvarna 281 and 288-series chainsaws that use a Tillotson HS-228-style carburetor. It replaces several original carburetor references, including 503 28 04-01 and 501 35 53-01. Therefore, it offers a practical solution when cleaning or rebuilding the old carburetor no longer restores reliable operation.

A worn or blocked carburetor can cause difficult starting, unstable idling, poor acceleration, loss of power or excessive fuel consumption. In addition, damaged diaphragms and contaminated fuel passages can prevent the engine from receiving the correct fuel mixture.

This product carries the Winzor brand. Husqvarna and Tillotson do not manufacture it.

Important: Husqvarna used different carburetor revisions during the production of these chainsaws. For example, some 288 EPA versions use the separate 503 28 04-05 carburetor. Therefore, do not select the replacement using the chainsaw model alone.

Before ordering, compare the original carburetor number with the references above. Also check the throttle linkage, choke mechanism, fuel inlet, adjustment-screw positions and mounting-hole layout.

Gaskets and fitting parts come only when the product photographs show them. After installation, check the idle speed and fuel mixture. A qualified technician should complete the final adjustment before the chainsaw returns to heavy use.
