Description
This STIHL FS120 gearbox is a Winzor aftermarket gear-head assembly for compatible STIHL brushcutters, clearing saws and trimmers. It transfers rotation from the drive shaft to the cutting attachment at the required operating angle. Therefore, it replaces a gearbox with worn gears, damaged bearings, excessive play or a cracked housing.

The gear assembly changes the direction of the rotating drive shaft and provides the output connection for the cutting head or blade hardware. As a result, excessive gearbox noise, rough movement and lateral output-shaft play indicate that the original unit requires inspection.
Before installation, remove the spark-plug cap and clean the end of the drive tube. Then check the drive shaft for twisted splines, corrosion or excessive wear. Align the shaft carefully before sliding the replacement gear head into position. Do not force the gearbox onto a misaligned shaft. Finally, tighten the retaining fasteners correctly and confirm that the cutting attachment rotates freely.
