The WEIMA WMS306 petrol wood chipper processes branches, tree cuttings and other woody garden waste. It combines a robust cutting system with the WEIMA WM192F/P 459 cc four-stroke engine. Therefore, it offers a practical solution for gardens, orchards, farms, estates and landscaping work.

WM192F/P engine performance

The WM192F/P is a single-cylinder, four-stroke OHV petrol engine with forced-air cooling. Its 459 cc displacement provides strong torque for demanding chipping work.

WEIMA specifies a 9.8 kW maximum output at 3,600 rpm, which the WMS306 specification rounds to 10 kW. The engine also provides a rated output of 9.2 kW at 3,600 rpm and maximum torque of 29 N·m at 2,800 rpm. Consequently, the engine can maintain useful pulling power when the cutting system meets heavier material.

A manual recoil starter keeps operation straightforward. In addition, the 6.5-litre fuel tank supports longer working sessions between refills.

High-capacity cutting system

The WMS306 accepts branches with a maximum diameter of 100 mm under suitable operating conditions. Its cutting system uses two HSS blades, each measuring 195 × 55 × 7 mm. The blades run at approximately 3,000 rpm for fast and consistent cutting.

An adjustable discharge chute helps direct the wood chips into a chosen collection area, trailer or pile. As a result, the operator can keep the working area tidier and reduce unnecessary handling.

However, maximum capacity depends on the wood species, moisture content, branch shape and blade condition. Straight, freshly cut branches usually feed more easily than very dry, forked or twisted material. For the best result, remove large side shoots before feeding a branch into the hopper.

Use suitable ramps or lifting equipment when necessary. Always keep the machine upright and secure it firmly during transport.

Operation and maintenance

Before each start, check the engine oil level, fuel level, blade fasteners, guards, hopper and discharge chute. Also inspect the machine for loose hardware or transport damage.

Always operate the chipper outdoors on firm, level ground. Wear suitable eye and hearing protection, close-fitting work clothing and appropriate footwear. Keep hands and tools out of the feed hopper. In addition, keep children and bystanders away from the working area.

If material causes a blockage, stop the engine and wait until the cutting system stops completely. Then disconnect the spark-plug cap before inspecting or clearing the machine.

Regular maintenance helps protect performance. Therefore, keep the blades sharp, change the engine oil at the specified intervals and service the air filter and spark plug according to the WEIMA manual. Clean wood dust, resin and debris from the machine after use.
