Aprašymas
This STIHL 026 cylinder kit is a Winzor aftermarket 44mm cylinder and piston assembly for compatible STIHL 026 and earlier MS260 chainsaws. It provides the principal engine components needed to replace a scored cylinder, damaged piston or worn top end. In addition, it replaces reference 1121 020 1203.
STIHL 026 cylinder kit compatibility
The 44mm assembly fits:
- STIHL 026
- Earlier STIHL MS260 chainsaws using a 44mm cylinder
- Machines using cylinder reference 1121 020 1203
Later MS260 chainsaws use a 44.7mm cylinder and require a different assembly. Therefore, measure the original cylinder bore and check the reference before ordering.

The cylinder and piston form the combustion chamber and restore the sealing surface used by the piston ring. Consequently, visible scoring, low compression, difficult starting and reduced power often indicate damage within this area. However, fitting new parts without correcting the original fault can cause the same damage again.
Before installation, inspect the crankshaft bearings, connecting rod, small-end bearing, crank seals, carburettor setting and intake system. Also, clean the crankcase carefully so that dirt or loose metal cannot enter the engine. Check the circlip grooves and install both clips securely with their openings correctly positioned.
Lubricate the piston, ring and cylinder bore with clean two-stroke oil during assembly. Then confirm the piston orientation and ring location before lowering the cylinder. Use the supplied red silicone sealant only on the appropriate crankcase sealing surfaces and apply a controlled, thin layer.
After rebuilding, confirm that the engine receives the correct fuel mixture and cooling airflow. Browse additional chainsaw spare parts or consult the official STIHL parts system for model-specific diagrams.
